Hanover Area Suffers First Defeat Of Season

DALLAS – Aly Nakkache survived a three-set, 1 1/2-hour match at No. 2
singles to help Dallas hand Hanover Area its first loss of the season, 7-0, on
Tuesday in Northeast Pennsylvania Tennis Conference Southern Division action.
Nakkache won 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 6-4 as the Mountaineers evened their record at
Hanover Area dropped to 3-1.
Wyoming Valley West 5, Coughlin 2
WILKES-BARRE – Katie Chorpenning and Helen Pavlac won singles matches and
teamed to win a doubles match to lead Wyoming Valley West.
Kate Mattern and Lita Centini also won singles matches for the Spartans.
Hazleton Area 6, Crestwood 1
WRIGHT TWP. – Meagan Demko and Aubrey Klesch won singles matches and paired
up to win a doubles match for Hazleton Area.
Shannon Sabo and Brittany Turnbaugh also won singles matches for Hazleton
Area.
Pittston Area 7, MMI 0
FREELAND – Stephanie Kudey won at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles to help
Pittston Area get by MMI.
Amanda Wascavich, Brianne Smithonic and Rebecca Davis added singles
victories for Pittston Area.
Crestwood 5, Wyoming Valley West 1
KINGSTON – Alesha Petrash won a tough three-set match at No. 1 singles and
Lena Ziegler and Ashley Evans won at third and fourth singles and combined for
a victory at No. 2 doubles for Crestwood on Monday.
Helen Pavlac notched Wyoming Valley West’s lone victory at No. 2 singles.
