'Happy' Titan, Tiffany, Tulip, Tennyson: Huntington Adoptable Pets Of The Week The "T kittens," approximately 7 weeks old, have "lovable personalities." Would you like to adopt one - or four?

HUNTINGTON, NY — Titan, Tiffany, Tulip, and Tennyson, approximately 7 weeks old, were born on Sept. 10 to a mother who is barely a year old. They are the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pets of the Week.

"They have all had a tough beginning, but mamma Spotty has found her forever home and now it is time for these babies to find theirs when they are ready," said Debbi Larkin, president of the shelter.

The "T kittens" were born at the shelter's in-house veterinarian's hospital while waiting for their mother to be vetted, "much to the surprise of everyone," according to Larkin.

"We knew she was pregnant but since mamma is so tiny we did not realize she was ready to give birth...boy did that cause quite the commotion!" Larkin said.

These four kittens already have older siblings from their mother, Spotty, who have already entered the shelter, according to Larkin. All but one male, Quinn, have been adopted.

"We are just waiting for him to find his forever home," Larkin said.

The shelter has two tuxedo kittens who have different facial markings but the two black kittens (Titan and Tiffany) are almost considered identical twins, according to Larkin. People must turn them upside down to look at their bellies to tell the difference.

All have tested negative for FELV and FIV, tested negative for parasites, had their ears and heart checked, have been wormed and have received their first set of vaccines. They will most likely be ready to enter the shelter at the beginning of December and be available for adoption after their last set of vaccines and they are spayed and/or neutered.

Titan is the small black male who gets along well with all of the others, including the resident dog in the foster home is always looking to play, said Larkin.

Tiffany, the other black kitten, is very bold and curious. She is always the first to explore any new situations, according to Larkin.

Tulip, one of the tuxedos (with the black nose), is the "queen of wrestling," Larkin said. She is always sizing up the others to determine who to tackle first!

Tennyson, the last tuxedo, is the quiet one, Larkin said. He is gentle and easy going but don't let his demeanor fool you!

They have voracious appetites and are getting bigger by the day, Larkin said.

"The quartet love to purr and run around the room playing tag," she said. "They all have a fascination with the broom and are always getting in the way when the foster mom is trying to clean up the mess they made in the litter box (and yes they are litter box trained). They are healthy, happy and beautiful."

If you are interested in meeting Titan, Tiffany, Tulip, or Tennyson, you may call the shelter at 631-757-4517, email visit the Facebook page or visit at the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter.

The rescue is at 3 Verleye Ave., East Northport, and visiting hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

The shelter is also open from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights only for those who cannot make it during the daytime hours.

"Do not let their colors fool you, we know that a lot of people have a tendency to shy away from black or black and white kittens/cats, but please give these babies a chance," Larkin said. "Their personalities and lovable nature will make you change your mind once you meet them."
