Hartford church members lead silent prayer after election
HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Members of the Emmanuel Congregational Church gathered on Wednesday in Hartford to pray.
"Prayer is very powerful as an anything that you are firm and believe and think and feel and commune with God with," Rev. Tracy Gormley said.
Rev. Dr. Jay Terbush said that they gathered for a silent prayer of solidarity and love. The group offered support and words of hope and shared strength to stand for justice and truth.
"When people pray others can be healed of physical diseases or mental diseases or spiritual diseases and so we are going to continue, the Bible says we are supposed to pray for our leaders and so we will continue to pray for Donald Trump in the next four years," Terbush said.
Terbush said that they have been praying for peace regardless of what the outcome of the election was.
