Has Matty Healy just told us the new album tracklist from The 1975?

Matty Healy has caught the attention of fans by sharing a mysterious new update online, which many are speculating is the tracklist to a new album from The 1975 .

The Manchester band haven't shared a new album since they dropped their fifth record, 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language' , back in 2022. However, back in February, the frontman got fans talking when he revealed during a live show that they were currently working on their next LP.

It came as a surprise to many, as the band had shortly before hinted that they would be going on an "indefinite hiatus" after their 2024 'Still... At Their Very Best' UK tour wrapped up in March.

Now, while the members have said little about new material in the time since, Matty Healy has piqued fans' interest by sharing a new update on social media – seemingly looking like a tracklist for a new album.

Taking to X/Twitter this morning (November 18), the post simply read: "Alone Together. Give us back our present. Oh yeah? The Philmarillion. Owe God A Death. Commercials in a hotel room. e were promised set backs. Pepsi-Cola Addict. Naked when you found her. 'He's White'. There are only individuals. TaxmanTaxmanInjectioHobby."

Shortly after, Healy responded to the update and told fans: "This is my 'names for our children' folder".

While it isn't quite clear what the update means, many have taken to the comment section, adamant that the post is a list of song titles from a new project.

"Pause are we getting the tracklist already" one wrote, while another added: "Bro comes on twitter to [...] tweet a tracklist and dips."

Some on the other hand were doubtful that the list was referring to new songs. "I bet these are song lyrics," one said, while someone else pondered "This can't be a tracklist these would sound too edgy even for you guys". Find more fan responses below.

This isn't the first time that Healy has hinted at a new 1975 album. Last December, the singer posted a screen recording of what appeared to be unreleased demos and ideas for potential songs that were stored in his phone. "I am going to create an album that is so good," Healy wrote at the time.

Back in 2022, he also looked at the band's most recent record, 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language' and suggested that the bad were on their way to becoming "the most important band" of this decade.

"I think we could still be the most important band of the '20s. I've got a prediction that we will be," he said, hinting that more material was yet to come.

" Arctic Monkeys are still relevant and making amazing records and are still a band [who could] always be around if they wanted to" (and that he's "obsessed with bands like Fontaines D.C. ")," he said – referring to his 2018 comments saying that Alex Turner and co. were "the band of the 2000s".

"With us, you need to take us out of the 'bands' world and put us next to Lana [Del Rey], Taylor [Swift], Frank Ocean and Kendrick [Lamar]," he added. "These are artists that have existed for a decade, and no one is asking them questions about why they're still relevant. We're only a band in form. We're a lot less formal than the last traditional band, which is Arctic Monkeys. We're post-Arctic Monkeys."

While few details are known about any upcoming 1975 music, it seems likely that the band won't be implementing a heavier direction any time soon. This comes as Healy recently explained that they were more intrigued in doing "something new" than channelling a heavier sound.
