‘Heating Up Hope’ campaign accepting applications
(WBRE/WYOU) — A local HVAC company in the Poconos is offering to install a heating system for one family in need at no cost.
Jeff's HVAC will be providing one family in need of a heating system this winter. The applications are now open are can be found at Jeff's HVAC Heating Up Hope .
This time of year Mother Nature is drawing in customers to heating companies like Jeff's HVAC in Effort.
"People are turning on the heat now, it is getting busy. Our service techs are usually running 50 hours plus a week right now," said Jeff Fisher, owner/president, of Jeff's HVAC.
Fischer says all types of calls are made during this hectic season.
"It's not top of mind. It's in a basement, in a crawlspace, in an attic, and, 'Let's turn it on, it's a little chilly in here.' Then turn it on, and guess what? We're still chilly." said Fischer.
Repairs and new parts could lead to a hefty bill, but a one-of-a-kind campaign the shop is offering will provide a replacement heating system, for free.
"The Heating Up Hope Campaign is sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating," explained Fischer.
To participate in heating up hope, families in need of a new system who live in Monroe and parts of Carbon counties can fill out an application online to possibly get selected as the winner.
Now the heating system installment will vary depending on the winner's home, however, it could be a ducted heating system, which Fischer says can average about 15,000 dollars to install.
"Friday night we will select a winner and we will announce it just before Thanksgiving," said Fischer.
Following Friday evening's deadline, Fischer says they plan to have the winner's system installed by early December.
An act of kindness he's grateful to be able to provide.
"I think the spirit of giving is just, it's just an awesome thing to be able to do," said Fischer.
To apply by the Friday, November 22 deadline you can visit Jeff's HVAC Heating Up Hope or call 610-951-4441 for additional information.
The applications will be reviewed and one family will be selected to receive the heating system with installation, free of charge.
Note this only includes the heating system and does not provide heating oil, propane, kerosene, or monetary compensation.
