Heavy police presence at Olney home due to wanted fugitive

OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Richland County Sheriff's Office is handling an unknown situation with a wanted fugitive inside a home near the Olney Public Library.

At this time, there are no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

The Olney Police Department, Illinois State Police Crisis Negotiations and the ILEAS SWAT team are all agencies on scene.

Barricades have been placed to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the area.

All residents are urged to avoid the area until the incident is resolved.
