Help Struggling Local Restaurants and Donate a Meal to a Health Care Worker Today – Pasadena Now

A program that helps struggling local restaurants stay in business by donating meals to health care workers at Huntington Hospital inspired a critical care nurse to write, in a thank you note, she was “floored.”

“Hi, my name is Eddie and I’m a nurse at Huntington taking care of Covid patients for weeks now,” she wrote in a letter shared by Pasadena Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Paul Little.

“I am floored at the generosity of people ... whether it’s PPE or anything really I am so touched. But buying us dinner was so special. I ordered 2 salads from Green street, and they were so delicious! The people there were so nice too...I didn’t believe this was real at first and they had to convince me. But not having to worry about dinner for my family was so special, not thinking about something to feed them after a long day of work was indescribable. I thank you for arranging this and all the generosity that went into it. I am truly touched.”

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Foundation has provided meals to hundreds of critical care workers in recent weeks, Little said.

He asked the public to keep donations and dinners coming.

“Your donation can bring a little joy into the lives of people who are risking their caring for the most and ease some of the stress they face every day in the COVID-19 units at Huntington Hospital,” he said.
