High schoolers read to elementary children: 'It's always nice to come back'
SPRING CREEK — Students from Spring Creek High School's various athletic teams visited Spring Creek's elementary schools to host story time for the students.
In groups of one to four, high school students were assigned to each classroom in Spring Creek Elementary, where they introduced themselves to the children and read at the front of the classroom, on couches, in reading nooks or even in the hallway.
The elementary kids took center stage, choosing what books they wanted the teens to read, even asking if they could read every other page.
"It's been pretty good so far. The kids are super sweet," Spring Creek High School junior Rhett White said.
"It's always nice to come back," Spring Creek High School senior Katelynn Sutherland said. "Since we were once in their shoes it's nice to be on the other side for once."
