Nadia Bartel 's boyfriend suffered quite the faux pas at the Melbourne Cup when he accidentally ruined Nicky Hilton 's photoshoot at Flemington Racecourse.

Amusing video footage shared to Instagram showed American socialite Nicky, 41, looking very glamorous as she posed up a storm for the cameras.

She was seen gracefully descending a staircase outside the Lexus marquee at the famous 'Birdcage', only for her shot to be blocked by an unlikely photobomber.

Fashion designer Nadia's boyfriend Peter Dugmore hilariously ruined her shot as he tried to run behind her in a bid to get out of the frame.

Nadia was left red-faced as she watched the unfortunate faux pas from afar with her friends, who were all left in stitches at Peter's unlikely run-in with Nicky.

Footage of the amusing mishap was shared to Instagram by Nadia's friend Denise Poupouzas alongside the caption: 'Witnesses Pete blocking Nicky Hilton's photoshoot.'

Nadia, who split with her AFL star ex husband Jimmy Bartel in 2019, has been dating former footballer turned model Peter Dugmore for around three years.

The couple, who keep their romance relatively private, appeared as loved-up as ever as they made a glamorous appearance at the Melbourne races on Tuesday.

Nicky, the sister of Paris Hilton, also made an appearance at the world-famous racing event as she is currently Down Under promoting her new clothing line.

At the races, Nicky stole the spotlight in a pastel yellow midi dress from Rebecca Vallance, featuring a tailored blazer with padded shoulders and a pleated skirt .

After her appearance at the races, Nicky jetted over to Sydney to attend an event celebrating her new collection at Rebecca Vallance's boutique in the Strand Arcade.

For the night, she put on a dazzling display in a long-sleeve red midi dress from her new holiday collection, which retails for $899.

The gown is embellished with glittering rouge sequins and features a sweetheart neckline and stunning lace detailing around the collar.

Nicky admitted the dress is her favourite from her newly released capsule collection with Rebecca Vallance as she celebrated her edit's launch.

Of her favourite piece in the collection, she exclusively told Daily Mail Australia: 'I think the dress I'm wearing, this encompasses the holidays.

'It's colourful, it's festive, it's joyful, I feel like a Christmas mermaid!'
