DENVER ( KDVR ) — The mansion on Grant Street was crafted in the late Victorian era and owned by one of Denver's biggest businessmen at the time. Over a century later, the building is still standing and on the market for millions.

Grant Street Mansion, also known as Sheedy Mansion, is a property in the Capitol Hill neighborhood that was once a house and since turned into an office space.

Pinnacle Real Estate Advisors said it was built in 1892 and owned by Dennis Sheedy, a prominent businessman who managed the Denver Dry Goods department store as well as some of the city's banking and mining.

In 2014, the building was bought out and completely renovated into an office space, but the structure and architecture of the house remain the same. The realtor said it was awarded the Jim Peiker Award in 2017 for Outstanding Historic Preservation.

Now, the realtor said it has 85 individual workspaces, open offices in the carriage house, gym, individual changing rooms with showers, a commercial kitchen, private meeting areas, conference rooms and an outdoor space.

The place is on the market for $8,407,575.

History Colorado said the property is an example of late Victorian-era eclecticism, specifically pointing out the massing and roof forms.

"The Sheedy Mansion is one of the best surviving examples of its type and period of construction," said History Colorado.

The space holds three stories and a two-story carriage house.

While the realtor said it's being advertised as an office mansion property, there are people interested in buying and converting the mansion back to a residential property if it's permitted by the city.
