HL Jr. Little League improves to 8-0
Harveys Lake Jr. Little League (13-14 year-olds) clipped Bob Horlacher, 7-5, to raise its undefeated record to 8-0. The team is currently in first place in the District 31 Junior National League. Members of the team are Cole Barbacci, Curtis Barbacci, Garrett Barber, Tyler Bush, Cody Cutter, Josh Davenport, Joe Faux, Curtis McGovern, Chris O’Connor, Troy Shurites, C.J. Whispell and Josh Zacharias. The Lakers are managed by Dwight Barbacci and assisted by Joe Shurites and Brian Cutter.
Summer basketball camps open
The Rock Recreation Center, 340 Carverton Rd., is accepting registrations for its summer basketball camps open to boys and girls kindergarten through sixth-grade.
Space is limited to 40 campers per week. Camp dates are: K through first-grade, June 16-20 and July 21-25; second and third-grade, July 7-11 and July 28-Aug. 1; fourth to sixth-grade, July 14-18 and August 4-8.
Each camper receives a t-shirt, water bottle and basketball. For more information, call 696-2769 or log on to www.rockrec.org.
PSU Soccer Camp returns June 23-27
The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Soccer Camp will be held June 23-27 where youngsters can learn essential techniques and challenge their skill level with Penn State NCAA Division I soccer coaches.
Recreation, travel and high school teams that sign up eight or more players receive a discount. A morning session will be held for players in grades 1-8 while an afternoon session will be geared toward high school students. Players are grouped according to ability and experience and all participants receive a free soccer ball and t-shirt.

Baseball signups slated
Back Mountain Fall Baseball signups will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today, Sunday, June 22, at the Back Mountain Little league field. Boys ages 8-11 are eligible. Registration fee is $35. Call Leo at 262-5329 with questions.
Football clinic slated
A mini football clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 14, 15 and 16 at Dallas High School. The clinic, which will emphasize skills, drills and fundamentals, will be conducted by Dallas High School football coach Ted Jackson, members of his coaching staff, current and former Mountaineers players.

Gridiron Club plans annual golf tournament
The Dallas Gridiron Club will hold its 11th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 19, at the Mill Race Golf Course, Benton, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Registration or sponsorship forms can be obtained from any club member or by contacting Lew Baines at 696-2728. A registration fee of $75 includes green fees, cart, lunch, refreshments, prizes and much more.
