She's best known to British viewers as Hollyoaks beauty Sasha Valentine.

But Nathalie Emmanuel was worlds away from the famous Chester village as she mingled with some of Hollywood's finest at the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola 's controversial new film Megalopolis on Monday.

The actress, 35, cut a glamorous figure in an elegant burgundy gown as she posed for snaps alongside Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro at the screening, which unveiled the 'Ultimate IMAX Cut' of the epic.

Nathalie stunned in the gorgeous red strapless gown as she showed off her eye-catching new blonde hairstyle.

The star kickstarted her career with her role as Sasha in the Channel 4 soap, where she starred from 2006 to 2010.

Nathalie then gained international stardom thanks to her role as Missandei in Game Of Thrones .

She has now landed one of the leading roles in Coppola's latest epic, as the young woman torn between her beloved and her father, in a decaying metropolis called New Rome.

The film sees brilliant artist Cesar Catilina ( Adam Driver ) and greedy mayor Franklyn Cicer (Giancarlo Esposito) at odds over whether to demolish the city known as New Rome and rebuild it as a sustainable utopia using Megalon.

Nathalie plays the daughter of Mayor Cicer, Julia, who is seeking a new meaning in her life after growing tired of the influence she's inherited.

The actress previously revealed that she was on the verge of quitting acting when she struggled to land roles after appearing in Hollyoaks.

She revealed she'd resorted to working in Hollister as a shop assistant when she landed her role on Game Of Thrones.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused and Life In Film podcasts in 2022, she described the emotional moment she was told of her role in GOT.

She said: 'Game Of Thrones was a game changer for me. I had been to get my shopping and was walking home to my flat.

'As I came into my building I got a call from my agent and she was like, 'Nathalie, you've got it'.

'I'd just auditioned for a well-paying advert so I was like, 'Oh great, I don't have to worry about the bills for a month. When should I come to London?'

'She said: 'You mean Belfast, you got Game Of Thrones'.'

'I dropped all my shopping, I broke jars, I cried. I had tears of joy, it was so amazing and re-ignited something in me.'

The star said she had considered going back to study after struggling to cope with her 'soul-destroying' retail job, but the HBO drama ignited her passion for acting once more.

She said: 'At the time I had been thinking of going back to school because I felt, 'No one wants to hire me and I'm not sure how long I can do this zero-hours retail job.

'I'm not learning anything and mostly just managing my behaviour with rude customers. It was soul- destroying.'

She added: 'I was a fan of the show. I annoyed my agent for a while about getting an audition but I didn't actually think that was possible.

'It's been spoken of widely how they didn't cast people of colour in regular leading roles so when the opportunity came I was like, 'This is mine!'

'But then it dawned on me that I actually had to do it. I was so excited and terrified.'

Nathalie played slave interpreter Missandei in the show, Daenerys' (Emelia Clarke) right-hand woman in her bid to claim the Iron Throne, from 2013-2019.

Her character was tragically killed at the end of the fourth episode in the show's eighth and final season after she was captured by villain Cersei.

Coppola, in May earlier this year, was accused of attempting to 'kiss topless and scantily clad female extras' on the set of Megalopolis in a story by The Guardian .

The filmmaker was seen allegedly 'trying to kiss young female extras' in two brief videos published days later by Variety.

The Godfather director addressed the numerous allegations in a wide-ranging interview with Rolling Stone, where he claimed the original report from The Guardian was, 'totally untrue.'

'If you read that piece, you'll realize that whoever the sources were — and I honestly don't know who the sources were — it's the same people who provided quotes for that Hollywood Reporter piece that said all these people were fired or resigned, and that there was a mass exodus, all of that,' Coppola said.

'And the truth of the matter is, they were looking for some sort of dirt. The young women I kissed on the cheek, in regards to the New Year's scene, they were young women I knew,' he insisted.

The director added, 'It's all so ridiculous. Look at the timing of that . It's right before we're about to premiere the film at Cannes. They're just trying to damage the picture.'

Coppola ultimately sued Variety, the publication that published the videos seemingly capturing him kissing women on the set, for libel.

Another controversy over the movie was based off of quotes from critics, leading Lionsgate to recall the trailer for the movie.

The quotes, which included those from late critics such as Pauline Kael and Roger Ebert, did not appear in prior reviews of past films from the director.
