Hops and Barleys in Mechanicsburg to close Friday

Hops & Barleys off York Street in Mechanicsburg Borough will close Friday after five years in business, owner Jason Melhorn posted to Facebook this weekend.

Melhorn opened the business in 2019 in the former York Street Grille location. He said Friday will be the business' last day in operation.

In his post on Facebook, Melhorn said he and the previous owners, Anne and Lee Arroyo, were working together to figure out how to keep the pub and grill in business, which included an idea to sell their liquor license in order to obtain a brewing license. The brewpub plan didn't come to fruition, and Melhorn thanked the Arroyos for the help and the staff for their dedication over the years.
