Hormel Foods to donate 5,000 free Turkeys for Mower County residents Saturday

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) – The giving season is upon us, and in Mower County, Hormel Foods is partnering with the Hometown Food Security Project to give away 5,000 free turkeys to reduce food insecurity. At the 'Hometown Turkey Takeover' residents can receive a free Jennie-O turkey. The county-wide turkey donation is happening on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9 a.m. on the Mower County Fairgrounds until supplies last. Hormel Foods plans to give away 3,500 turkeys at the Saturday event and donate 1,500 to Mower County organizations working towards reducing food insecurity. Staff members are asking that vehicles arrive on the south end of the fairgrounds, remain in their cars, and drive through the event.to learn more about the turkey giveaway.
