Houston Texans cut scrappy former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback

B.James2 hr ago
The Houston Texans have released former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Desmond King from their practice squad, the team announced. King signed to the Texans practice squad after he was initially cut during 53-man roster cut downs. He has stayed there for the entire season, playing in one game with the team.

King was a stalwart on the Texans, having been around the team for multiple seasons as their starting slot cornerback, including last year. He initially joined the Steelers a season ago after the Texans cut him following training camp in a surprise move.

Yet, he logged just one snap, allowing a touchdown, and the team moved on from him just like that, allowing King to return to the Texans.

Over his career, King has played almost exclusively in the slot and as a returner. He started his career with the Los Angeles Chargers and then has done some hopping around in the NFL. Now 29, he has lost a bit of his athleticism, but will hope to latch on somewhere else.
