This is the 92nd edition of the rivalry known as the Textile Bowl. These two programs have met on the gridiron dating back to 1899, with Clemson holding the historical edge, going 60-30-1 against NC State. However, the Wolfpack did pull off a stunning win in Raleigh last season.

The Tigers came into this season as the team that was expected to once again be near the top of the ACC standings. However, a 34-3 drubbing at the hands of Georgia in their season opener certainly diminished a lot of optimism. Clemson comes into this matchup well rested after having a week of following a 66-20 shellacking of Appalachian State in Week 2. While they have a home-field advantage, they will need their offense to continue to roll against an NC State that is not going to go down lightly.

Speaking of the Wolfpack, there were a lot of people looking at this squad as a team to be thriving in the role of underdogs in 2024. Unfortunately, those hopes seemed to be dashed when Tennessee beat them by 41 in Week 2, at home. In their wins over Western Carolina and Louisana Tech, the Wolfpack certainly did not impress, only beating the Bulldogs by 10 last Saturday. With the team's first away game coming inside a hostile environment, they will need to take the crowd out of the game quickly to have a chance.
