  • The Broncos had a tough non-conference schedule to start the year, taking on the likes of Big Ten power Wisconsin and Ohio State prior to taking on MAC competition. After losing to Marshall in late September, Western Michigan has picked up steam thanks to their offense coming alive in recent weeks. They have won each of their first four official conference clashes, including a 52-21 drubbing of Kent State during Homecoming weekend a little over a week ago. During this win streak, head coach Lance Taylor's crew has averaged over 44 points a game, performing well both at home and on the road.

The Huskies are usually right near the top of the MAC standings, but that is not the case so far this season. Following a disappointing 25-23 loss to Ball State in Week 9, NIU has fallen to two games below .500 in MACtion, losing four of its last six games. Though the team fared well during interconference play, including a stunning win over Notre Dame, they have not been able to move the ball efficiently enough to challenge for the top spot in the conference.

The Broncos are 27-22 against the Huskies, though Northern Illinois has won the last two matchups.

    MY PICK: Broncos win, 35-28
