How to Watch the Detroit Red Wings vs. Chicago Blackhawks - NHL (11/30/23) | Channel, Stream, Preview

Connor Bedard, the generational talented selected first overall in this year’s draft, will make play his first regular season game in Detroit when the Chicago Blackhawks visit the Red Wings. Bedard, 18, leads Chicago in goals (10) and points (17).

Dylan Larkin is expected to miss his second game in a row due to an undisclosed injury that’s listed him as day-to-day. The Red Wings are coming off a 3-2 loss at the New York Rangers Wednesday, when they couldn’t hang onto a one-goal lead in the third period against the top team in the league.

Detroit’s power play is on an uptick, having gone 6 for 20 in the past four games following an 0 for 20 slump the previous five games. The Blackhawks have the worst-ranked power play in the NHL (9.2 percent) and have gone 0 for 17 in their past six games.

Alex Lyon is expected to start in goal for the Red Wings. He has won his past two starts. He might oppose former Red Wing Petr Mrazek. The Blackhawks are coming off a 4-3 victory over Seattle. Six of their seven wins have come against 2023 playoff teams.

Patrick Kane, signed Tuesday to a one-year contract, will not get the opportunity to play against his former team because he needs a few practices to get up to game speed. He is expected to make his season debut next week, possibly as early as Tuesday in Buffalo but no later than by the end of the week.

These teams meet again Feb. 25 at Chicago in what could be Kane’s first game back at the United Center since being traded from the Blackhawks to the Rangers last season.
