CLEVELAND - After a tough open to their American League Divisional Series against the Cleveland Guardians, the Detroit Tigers will look to bounce in Game 2 on Monday.

Similar to how a hot start helped the Tigers in the Wild Card series against the Houston Astros, the Guardians used an excellent opening inning to take control of Game 1. Cleveland got to pitcher Tyler Holton, pumping five runs across home plate, highlighted by a three-run home run from Lane Thomas, all before the first out of the frame. Detroit was never able to recover, as the Guardians scored a couple more runs later on in the game to run away with a 7-0 win .

The lone "bright spot" for the Tigers on Saturday was Reese Olson's performance. Though he gave up the home run to Thomas, he kept Cleveland at bay for the most part, only surrendering one earned run in five innings of work. Detroit had just one hit.

David Fry led the Guardians with two hits and two RBIs, while Steven Kwan scored twice as well in the win.
