LAS VEGAS - Two AFC West rivals meet up in Sin City on Sunday, as both the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders hope to get back on the winning track.

In a surprising development, the Chiefs have lost two of their last three games.

After winning six straight games following a loss on the opening night of the season, the reigning Super Bowl champions lost in stunning fashion to the Denver Broncos in Week 8. Then, following a win in Germany against the Miami Dolphins, KC gave up a lead against the Philadelphia Eagles last Monday night, pushing them down to second in the AFC. The Chiefs’ offense has been mediocre as of late, scoring less than 20 points in four of their last five games, including 17 against the Eagles.

The Chiefs lead the AFC West, sitting two games ahead of the Broncos. They are also a half-game behind the Baltimore Ravens for the top spot in the conference.

The Raiders are a half-game behind the Broncos, but have some work to do if they even want to be considered a playoff contender. They looked to be heading in the right direction after wins over both New York teams. However, they surrendered an early lead against the Dolphins last Sunday, ultimately losing, 20-13. The defeat marked the fourth time in the last five games Las Vegas did not reach the 20-point plateau.

Las Vegas is 12th in the conference, 1.5 games back of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans for the last postseason positions.

This will be the 129th meeting between the divisional rivals, with the Chiefs leading the Raiders, 72-54-2, winning each matchup since October 2020.
