ATLANTA, GA - In a busy Sunday slate of NFL action, two division rivals battle it out at the top of the NFC South, as the Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints.

New Orleans Saints (5-5) vs. Atlanta Falcons (4-6)

The Saints come into this in first, but not by much. Nipping at their heels are the Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, both tied for second. To make things interesting, both Atlanta and New Orleans are coming off of their bye weeks.

Prior to the bye, the Saints suffered a tough loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and have lost three of their last five games. Their last two wins have come against the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears, both sitting out of a playoff spot. In fact, each of their five wins is against teams that would not be playing if the postseason started today. That would not change Sunday if they were to win, but it shows that the Saints have been unable to step up against better teams. Thankfully, they only face one team that is currently in the top seven in the NFC, and that is next Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

The Falcons looked poised to take the reigns as the best team in the South. However, lackluster performances from Desmond Ridder, and other forms of mismanagement, have left the team battling to stay alive in the playoff race. Atlanta comes out of the bye week looking to end a three-game losing streak, including a disappointing loss to the lowly Arizona Cardinals in Week 10.

Through 108 meetings, the Saints and Falcons are level at 54-54, though the Saints have won six of the last seven matchups.
