ACL TV to livestream Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel concert

Willie Nelson & Family , along with Asleep at the Wheel, will headline the "Austin City Limits" 50th Birthday Bash at the Long Center on Oct. 17, celebrating the anniversary of the show's pilot episode.

Nelson was the first artist to perform at "ACL," and the show's anniversary is approaching. The inaugural performance took place on Oct. 17, 1974.

Is the 'ACL' birthday bash concert free to attend?

Not unless you registered last month . Registration for a chance to win tickets opened on Friday, Sept. 20 and closed Monday, Sept. 23.

According to aclturns50.com, those selected were notified between Thursday, Sept. 26th and Friday, Sept. 27th. Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis and only two tickets can be claimed. Tickets are non-transferable.

Can you bring your own chairs to the 'ACL' birthday bash at the Long Center?

This event is picnic style and on the lawn. Chairs are not permitted.

The worldwide stream will start at 7 p.m. on AClturns50.com and ' Austin City Limits' TV's YouTube channel , as per their website.

While the performance will be recorded, the live stream will only be available in real-time. Musical highlights will be featured in a special hour-long broadcast of "Austin City Limits" on PBS early next year, celebrating the program's 50th anniversary season, according to a release from the TV show.
