oward F. Johnston, 85, of West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, died Tuesday at the
Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock.



Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late John E. and Elizabeth
(Aitken) Johnston. He was a 1932 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and 1936
graduate of Penn State University. He was a sales manager of the Eastern
Transport Division of Dearborn Chemical Co. Division of W.R. Grace Co. and was
an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Tunkhannock
Presbyterian Church, Dennis Strong American Legion Post, Tunkhannock Kiwanis
Club and Triton Hose Co.

Surviving are his companion of many years, Sara Weber; and brother, Robert,
Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Karshner.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Sheldon-Kukuchka
Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with the Rev. Robert Hooper
officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be
made to the Tunkhannock Presbyterian Church, Putman St., Tunkhannock, 18657;
or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, c/o Irem Temple Shrine, P.O. Box 307,
Dallas, Pa. 18612-0307.
