Human remains found in southern Wisconsin, investigation underway

MILTON, Wis. (WFRV) — A death investigation is underway in southern Wisconsin after a hunter discovered what appeared to be human skeletal remains on public hunting grounds.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office , the remains were reported on Oct. 13, around 9:30 a.m., near the 8000 block of N. Pine Rd in the township of Milton. Deputies responded to the scene after a hunter found the suspected remains.

Wisconsin man arrested after suspicious powder found in mailboxes

The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that the remains were human, but the individual's identity has not been determined.

Authorities are continuing the investigation, and no further details have been released.
