Husband of Laura Prepon files for divorce from N.J. star of ‘That ’70s Show,’ ‘Orange is the New Black’

Actor Ben Foster has filed to divorce Laura Prepon , his wife of six years and star of " That '70s Show " and " Orange is the New Black ."

Page Six and TMZ report that Foster filed Sept. 9 in Nashville , where they lived, citing irreconcilable differences .

Prepon, who grew up in Somerset County, married Foster (" Hell or High Water ") in 2018 after they welcomed their first child, daughter Ella , in 2017, and got engaged in 2016. Their son was born in 2020.

Prepon and Foster, both 44, started acting as teens and knew each other for 19 years before they tied the knot. TMZ reports that Prepon remains in Tennessee with the children while Foster has been living in Los Angeles.

Prepon was born in Watchung and attended Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren Township.

She rose to fame playing Donna Pinciotti on the Fox series " That '70s Show ," which debuted in 1998 and ended in 2006, after eight seasons.

In 2023, Prepon reprised the role of Donna in the sequel series " That '90s Show " on Netflix and directed 10 episodes, including the entire second half of the second season. The show was canceled last month.

In 2013, she debuted as Alex Vause in Netflix's Emmy-winning series " Orange is the New Black ," a character she played on the show through 2019. Prepon shared in two SAG Award wins for best ensemble as a member of the cast in 2016 and 2017.

Her film roles include the 2017 movie " The Hero ," " The Girl on the Train " (2016) and " The Kitchen " (2012).

Prepon wrote the 2020 book " You and I, as Mothers: A Raw and Honest Guide to Motherhood " and the 2016 book " The Stash Plan : Your 21-Day Guide to Shed Weight, Feel Great, and Take Charge of Your Health," with Elizabeth Troy.

The actor, who sells a line of kitchen tools called PrepOn Kitchen , dedicates her YouTube channel to videos where she demonstrates food and drink recipes .

Foster is a Boston native who grew up in Iowa. In 2016, he won an Independent Spirit Award for playing Tanner Howard in " Hell or High Water ," which was nominated for the Oscar for best picture.

His other film credits include " The Mechanic " (2011), " The Messenger " (2009), " X-Men: The Last Stand " (2006), " Alpha Dog " (2006) " 3:10 to Yuma " (2007) and " The Punisher " (2004).

Foster played boxer and Holocaust survivor Harry Haft in the HBO film " The Survivor ," which was nominated for an Emmy in 2022. He also shared in a SAG win for best ensemble for HBO's " Six Feet Under " in 2004 (he played Russell Corwin).

One of his upcoming movies, the Detroit-set action thriller " Motor City ," filmed in New Jersey.
