I-96 ramp closure will impact motorists through Saturday in Livingston County

— A major freeway ramp closure will require motorists to detour near Brighton for a few days.

The westbound I-96 off ramp to Grand River Avenue between Brighton and Howell near Lake Chemung in Genoa Township completely closed to traffic at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.

The ramp is expected to reopen by 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Motorists are being detoured to the Latson Road off ramp to Grand River Avenue closer to Howell in Genoa Township.

MDOT crews are completing traffic loops on the ramp, officials said.

There are also single lane closures on both eastbound and westbound I-96 between Chilson and Spencer roads in Brighton until 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, according to the MDOT Mi Drive map .

In addition, intermittent single-lane closures on westbound Grand River Avenue between Challis and Hilton roads in Brighton are expected to last until 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15.
