I-75 shut down several hours after ‘major’ semi crash near Sadieville

SADIEVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — I-75 was shut down through the night following a major crash.

Scott County Emergency Management told FOX 56 that the crash happened around 10 p.m. near Sadieville.

Officials said a semi-truck driver was hauling logs when he claimed to have hit something in the road, causing the truck to crash. Several logs were thrown over the barrier, spilling onto the northbound lane.

The truck then caught fire, according to emergency crews.

Just before 5 a.m. on Monday, the scene was cleared and all of I-75 was reopened.

Just days after announcing a civil fine against Ford for moving too slowly on a recall, the U.S. government unveiled two investigations into recalls that may not have worked or covered enough vehicles. In April Ford recalled certain 2021 through 2024 Bronco Sports and 2022 through 2023 Mavericks were recalled because they can suddenly lose power. There have been five complaints from owners whose vehicles lost power after getting the recall fix, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a document posted Monday.
