I was on Naked Attraction and it's not a real dating show - my matches made no sense and show bosses just wanted to see my package

A Naked Attraction contestant has opened up about what it was really like taking part in the raunchy Channel 4 programme and has claimed that it's 'not a real dating show'. The British TV show hosted by Anna Richardson first hit screens in 2016 and sees contestants strip off on camera, as a single man or woman judges them solely based on their bodies and finally chooses one of them to go on a date with. US marine Conor, who now lives in Scotland, appeared in series seven of the controversial show back in 2020 with the hopes of finding love. He was the one choosing from the women in the pods and ended up going on a date with a contestant called Bianca - however, things quickly fizzled out as the pair lived too far apart. Opening up to The Sun about his experience earlier this year, Conor admitted: 'It's not a dating show – it's a fun show, but I think they can't just say, "We're going to throw naked strangers on the TV in front of you" without having the premise of making it to find love.' 'The person I matched with, they live four, five hours away from me, so it didn't seem logical during Covid that it was very thought out.' He added: 'It showed to me that, okay, they didn't really care about the further package – they just wanted to see our packages.' Conor claimed that viewers would not be able to find many Naked Attraction couples who's romance extended beyond the show. Although he slammed the logistics of the dating programme, he also praised the concept for being accepting and 'promoting body positivity' and described is own experience as 'fun'. It comes just after the news that producers of a new Channel 4 dating show centered around virgins have reportedly secured enough participants to finally move forward with the project. The show, titled The Intimacy Retreat, faced significant challenges in casting, with the process dragging on for over a year. The concept involves sexually inexperienced individuals being coached on intimacy and possibly losing their virginity on camera. A source revealed to The Sun the unexpected difficulties in recruiting contestants, saying: 'Nobody saw this coming. Who'd have thought it would be so hard to find up-for-it youngsters? 'Rylan Clark has managed to get ten contestants to live entirely in the nude for his new show Dating Naked, there's fully-blown orgies on Open House, and Naked Attraction has had Brits getting their bits out on air for years. 'But producers just couldn't reel them in.' To overcome the casting hurdles, the show's producers broadened their criteria, allowing applicants who 'identify' as virgins to participate. The application process included questions about sexual experiences, or lack thereof, and asked applicants if they considered themselves virgins. Set in a Love Island-style villa in the Mediterranean, the six-part series will feature a cast of adults guided by sexologists as they navigate their fears and learn about intimacy. The goal is to help participants gain confidence and possibly take the step of losing their virginity on the show. The Intimacy Retreat is now slated to air next year. The idea is that the contestants will naturally lose their virginity to one another, but if they are unsuccessful, sex surrogates are on hand to help. An insider insisted: 'It's a bold social experiment, not anything raunchy.' MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 for comment.
