IAA Credit Union announces artist of the quarter
BLOOMINGTON — The IAA Credit Union, 808 IAA Drive in Bloomington, announced Joan Maney as its artist of the quarter.
Maney is self-taught and specializes in realistic painting, but spent most of her career as a human resources professional, according to a news release. She mostly works in acrylics, with some watercolors.
Maney aims for each of heir pieces to evoke emotion, the news release said. She started painting after creating a winter scene during a team-building class. When she brought it home and showed it to her husband, he assumed she had bought the piece.
Maney then started her own business, Because I Can Arts!, where she paints custom orders. To view or purchase her work, visit becauseicanarts.com .
Maney's artwork will be on display in the IAA Credit Union lobby throughout November and December.
