NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Today's the day.

It's Tuesday, November 5, Election Day across America.

As voters pick the next President of the United States, WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood wants to know what a class of New Orleans fifth graders wants their President to do.

What to expect for Election Day 2024

And that's the question they answer.

"I want the next president to make some good laws so that the United States could be a good place to be."

"I want the next president to bring certain prices down because stuff is getting high."

"Stop the violence."

And they get another question.

What would they do as President?

"I would want to make peace."

"I would have good schools, like this one, good teachers like that one."

"I would help the homeless people."

Reminders for Louisiana voters ahead of Election Day

"I would try my best to stop racism because that's a big problem that we have in the world."

The answers from a class of 10 and 11-year-old students.

As they pledge allegiance to the flag in the corner of their class, the future belongs to all of them and a future president may just be one of them.
