OLNEY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — If you're looking for a great way to kick off the weekend, Olney is having its inaugural Heroes and Harvest Fest.

Riddle Firearms' Sara Riddle, Realtor, and Keep Olney Beautiful will be hosting.

The festival is expected to feature a diverse selection of vendors and artisans selling unique handmade crafts and baked goods.

For those who love good food, the event's food trucks will serve up something for every craving.

There will also be a dedicated kid's zone to keep the young ones entertained with bounce houses, face painting and much more.

As if that wasn't enough, as the sun sets, the event will shift into high gear with a live concert featuring the soulful sounds of Songbird Jones, followed by a high-energy performance by country star Coffey Anderson.

The event also aims to honor local heroes with special tributes throughout the day.

"Sarah and I were talking, and she wanted to, you know, honor our local heroes because we have so many local veterans. We have so many local heroes. You know, our chief of police, he's a veteran. We've got so many people involved at our American Legion, and all of these people come together and they make our community what it is today. And there's also a number of local heroes who may not be a veteran, but they're still a hero to us in some way, shape or form", Olney Marketday's founder, Katie Carls, said.

Pre-sale concert tickets are $15 for ages 16 up until Friday at noon, and after that, tickets will be $20 at the gate.
