Incredible News From Joliet's Inwood Ice Arena Joliet's Inwood Ice Arena has been open since 1993. This marks the first major renovation to the building since it opened.

JOLIET — One of their biggest renovation projects in many years for the Joliet Park District has been finished. The Park District is spending roughly $7 million to update the Inwood Ice Arena. It's the first major project since the Ice Arena opened in 1993.

The Inwood Ice Arena officially reopened for use on Tuesday.

According to the Park District, the Ice Arena is also getting new bleachers as part of the $7 million project, Park District director Brad Staab said.

The completion of Phase I included the following:

  • New Ice Rink Refrigeration System
  • New Concrete Ice Rink Slab
  • New Dasher Boards
  • New Rubber Flooring
  • New Bleacher
  • Painting and New Logos
  • Locker Room Renovation
  • Ice Skate Office Renovation
  • Public Washroom Renovation
  • Phase 2 will be finished in the spring of 2025:

  • Lobby Renovation
  • New Chiller & Management Control System
  • Installation of New Generator
  • Ice Arena Roof Replacement
  • New Zamboni
