An Indiana community is reeling after three children — all under the age of 10 — were found dead with their mother earlier this week.

Police in Wolcottville, Ind., were conducting a welfare check in a home when they found 32-year-old Rebecca Hughes dead with her children: Evelyn Newell, 8, Allison Newell, 6, and Amelia Newell, 5, the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post said in a statement . (The children were referred to as Evalynn, Ally, and Mia in a fundraiser by their father).

Investigators have not released information on the cause and nature of the deaths. A State Police representative confirmed to PEOPLE that their investigation suggests there's no further threat to the public.

The children's father has set up a GoFundMe to assist with funeral costs. In his post, Jonathan Newell shared a photo of the kids holding Father's Day cards as they posed for the camera.

"These kids deserve so much more than I can provide for their burials," Jonathan wrote in the fundraiser, which garnered more than $36,000 in one day.
