SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Over the past several weeks we've taken an in depth look at Emerald Ash Borer and its effects on ash trees in Sioux Falls.

On this week's Inside KELOLAND, we are taking a look at what other cities are doing to get ahead of the invasive insect.

Event in Sioux Falls set to feature Mark Robinson

Emerald Ash Borer has been detected in 10 cities across four counties in South Dakota.

According to the USDA, the beetle was first detected in North America in 2002 in southeast Michigan. Since then, the Emerald Ash Borer has spread across the eastern part of the country with infestations detected in 36 States and the District of Columbia

Aberdeen City Forester Aaron Kiesz and Huron Parks and Rec Director Chad Schroder spoke about how the two cities are taking a proactive approach.
