YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Iris Elizabeth Byers, a vibrant soul, was born on June 2, 2000, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Shawn Byers and Michael Ross Sr. Iris lived a colorful life that spanned beyond her twenty-four years. With a heart as big as her infectious smile, Iris saw the world in every hue, her spirit resembling the rainbow she adored.

On August 26, 2024, she departed this world, leaving behind memories of her infectious energy, kindness and love.

From her school days at East High playing volleyball or pursuing her interest in culinary arts at Choffin Career & Technical Center, Iris graduated from Chaney High School. She continued her scholarly pursuits at Eastern Gateway Community College. She had a varied career in retail working at Wendy's Restaurant and Walmart.

Raised in the faith at Grace Evangelistic Temple, her presence radiated joy, touching all those around her with warmth and kindness. Iris found solace in dance, delight in drawing, and passion in the art of the culinary world.

As she danced through life, Iris touched the hearts of many, leaving lasting imprints of love and joy. Her vibrant energy, expressed through her ever-changing hair colors, reflected the colorful soul she possessed within. She was our Rainbow, our Dancing Machine, effortlessly twirling through life's melodies with grace and elegance.

With unbridled enthusiasm, Iris spread laughter and joy to all who knew her – her family, friends, and the community that embraced her spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and positivity that will resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She touched the lives of many, leaving a trail of smiles wherever she went. Her vibrant presence and infectious laughter brought light to those around her. Iris was a free spirit, unbound by convention, and her legacy of love and spontaneity shall endure eternally.

Iris will be cherished by her father Michael Sr., sisters Brandalyn, Natalie, Cassandra and brothers, Daniel, Joel, Michael Jr., Maurice, and Rashard. Iris also shared precious memories with her grandmother Allie Mae Ross and godmother Pastor Martha Taylor, binding their hearts with love that time cannot fray.

As Iris crossed the celestial sands, she was embraced by her ancestors. In the footsteps of her mother Shawn, grandmother Brenda Byer and A-1 aka favorite cousin Amerah Green who preceded her into eternity, Iris led a life that resonates with echoes of love, compassion, and artistry.

In her honor, we invite friends and family to join the Byers Family in celebrating Iris's life at the Celebration of Life Memorial Service, to be held at Grace Evangelistic Temple Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Tyrone Treece will oversee the ceremony, guiding all through reminiscences of Iris's remarkable journey.
