R.Campbell30 min ago

An election tradition as entrenched in Key Biscayne as campaigning on the corner of Crandon and Harbor is Islander News publishing residents' mini-endorsements of candidates.

Next Monday, October 21, in-person live voting starts. Beginning with this issue – see page 8 – and for the October 24 and 31 issues, we offer Key Biscayne residents the opportunity to write short-form endorsements of their preferred candidate from among the six residents running for three vacant Council seats:

• Michael Bracken

• Frank Caplan

• Charles Collins

• Mark Fried

• Nick Lopez-Jenkins

• Nancy Stoner

We will also accept mini-endorsements for the County Commission District 7 race between incumbent Raquel Regalado and former Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner (see page __) and the District 113 Florida House of Representatives race between incumbent Vicki Lopez and Jackie Kellogg.

Mini-endorsements should be emailed to by 5 p.m. on the Friday before publication. So, for the October 24 edition, your submission must be received on October 18.

Write about why you support your candidate. Islander News will not run letters that attack a candidate or letters submitted anonymously. All submissions must be original and signed.

Your endorsement is limited to . We suggest you do a word count before submitting it to us. Mini-endorsements may be edited for clarity, legal ramifications, length or general taste.

The opinions expressed in mini-endorsements are the writer's alone. They should not be considered a reflection of the opinion of Islander News management, employees or advertisers. We also reserve the right to refuse to publish submitted endorsements for the same reasons.
