‘It’s not safe’: Video shows shootout in Tremont
CLEVELAND (WJW) – Residents of Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood are shaken up after a violent shootout erupted late Tuesday night.
The confrontation began around 11 p.m., when surveillance footage captured three young men being dropped off in an alley on Herschel Court.

The group proceeded towards West 7th Street, and as they reached the intersection, all three pulled out firearms and began shooting, the sounds of gunfire echoing through the neighborhood.
For some Tremont residents, this incident signals a shift in the neighborhood's safety. "It should be a walkable neighborhood, and it's not safe," one resident lamented, who has lived in Tremont for 26 years.
"It once was break-ins, stealing, rifling through a car. Now, it's firearms. It's carjackings," she said, reluctant to show her face on camera for fear the suspects might return. She expressed frustration, pointing to both the choices made by some local youth and the city's police force, which she says is "stretched to the nth degree."
