Jaguars' first Monday Night Football in 12 years doesn't give the Bengals an advantage
Monday Night Football is special, and in a way, it's usually the most important game of the week. It's the one day, other than Thursday, that the only game on is that of the MNF game, and it's the last game of the week. This one is especially important for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This is the Jaguars' first Monday Night Football game since December 5, 2011. By the time Monday rolls around, it would be two days away from the 12-year anniversary of their last game, which was a loss to the then-San Diego Chargers. The Jaguars lost that game 38-14.
The Jaguars are 8-7 all-time on Monday Night Football games, and this Monday, they have the opportunity to extend that record even better. But they are playing the Cincinnati Bengals, who, even without Joe Burrow, are still a good team and have played on Monday Night Football more recently.
Usually, you would think that means the Bengals have the primetime experience advantage on their side. But that's not entirely true in this case.
The Jaguars have 20 players on their roster with Monday Night Football experience, according to Michael DiRocco. The players listed have played on Monday Night Football, and the number next to their name is how many games they have played on MNF:
QB C.J. Beathard (1 game), DL Angelo Blackson (7), OL Chandler Brewer (1), OL Ezra Cleveland (3), TE Evan Engram (8), DT Foley Fatukasi (3), DL Adam Gotsis (6), OL Blake Hance (2), S Rayshawn Jenkins (3), RB D'Ernest Johnson (5), LB Caleb Johnson (2), WR Zay Jones (4), WR Christian Kirk (2), DL Jeremiah Ledbetter (2), K Brandon McManus (11), LB Foye Oluokun (2), WR Calvin Ridley (2), DL Roy Robertson-Harris (4), OL Brandon Scherff (8), CB Darious Williams (4).
