Notable injuries

Cam Robinson exited the game in the first quarter with a knee injury. He was ruled out at halftime, and based on his immediate reaction on the broadcast, it’s likely a major injury.

Travis Etienne left in the second quarter with a chest injury (cramps?) but he returned soon after.

One lingering question

How long is Mike Caldwell gonna stick around town? It shouldn’t be long before Jacksonville’s defensive coordinator fields interviews to be a head coach elsewhere. Stroud finished the day with 304 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 116 passer rating, and it felt like he had all day to throw the ball. But Caldwell’s Jaguars committed resources to coverage to limit Stroud’s explosiveness through the air, and it paid off, as the Texans finished with just 21 points and had a relatively mild day of production. The difference between Week 3 and Week 12 is that Caldwell treated Stroud like an elite quarterback today, and his unit got the job done by bending but not breaking (including in the last few minutes of regulation) against a legitimately good offense.
