Jake Paul’s Former Trainer Brutally Shuts Down Talks of Potential Match With Rising Boxing Prospect

An Instagram post has been gaining significant attention. It pertains to a fight suggestion for Jake Paul . The YouTuber-turned-boxer returns to the ring on November 15 for what could be the biggest fight of his boxing career. At Arlington's 80,000-capacity AT & Stadium, he will face none other than 'Iron' Mike Tyson . The lineup idea caught many by surprise.

Perhaps what may have raised eyebrows was the choice of opponent. So much so that 'The Problem Child' former trainer also jumped into the discussion. On July 20, the date when the fight with Tyson was earlier scheduled, Paul defeated bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry. The hype around the November 15 clash has been soaring. However, whispers of the Ohioan's next outing have begun to surface in a few circles. There are also talks of Paul potentially making his MMA debut by next year.

Stirring up a new fight debate The Instagram post from 'Overtimeboxing' had a poser for everyone: "Who yall got if these 2 fought? The attached photo had images of both Lugo and Paul and featured a user comment: "Nathan Lugo would embarrass Jake Paul."

Needless to say, the post has been generating quite a buzz. Perhaps with Lugo being a professional boxer with a commendable amateur record, many felt that he might outdo Jake Paul, who has mostly fought former UFC champions and semi-retired boxers in his four-year-old crossover boxing career.

But going against the tide, 'The Problem Child's former trainer, BJ Flores, countered. Tagging Nathan Lugo, he said, "My man, Jake isn't like that at all, or maybe you caught him on a day where he was preoccupied." The former cruiserweight fighter, who lost his title challenger to Toney Bellew in 2016, then highlighted Jake Paul's accomplishments.

"This young man has donated more money into youth programs/charities and made more fighters money than ANY active professional boxer that has been boxing for 4 years. He's all about getting the boxers paid," added Flores. The precise reasons behind the emergence of the lineup suggestion remain unclear.

Orlando, Florida-born Nathan Lugo is a super middleweight boxer who made his professional debut in April this year. Nicknamed 'Brickbuster', Lugo's amateur records show 62 wins against 8 losses. The 2 pro-fight veteran last fought Ray Corona on July 31 .

Nathan Lugo on Jake Paul An old Instagram post shows a picture of Nathan Lugo, Jake Paul, and a few other boxers at a gym. There's a clip that presumably shows Jake Paul watching a young Lugo working on the mitts. So a few days ago, Lugo shed some light on the brief exchange that took place between him and Paul. He recalled how the latter's height impressed him. So approaching Paul, he said, "Dang, you're taller than I thought you were." Then Lugo mimicked the way 'The Problem Child' responded.

It appears 'Brickbuster' wasn't to pleased with Jake Paul's curt reply. He continued, "He couldn't even strike up a conversation. You're in my gym. You're in my house. He didn't wake anybody up. He came in here like he bought the whole gym out. Not saying he couldn't. But, like, have some respect. Like, I'm not even your fan. I'm another boxer; it's different."

However, in another clip Nathan Lugo acknowledged that Jake Paul significantly increased interest and visibility in boxing, especially through his use of social media. He appreciated 'The Problem Child's influence, emphasizing that Paul's efforts brought a lot of attention and new fans to the sport.

Still, when it came to the November 15 showdown, things were different. He said, "I hope Mike Tyson does what he's supposed to do."

If you're rooting for Mike Tyson, in which round do you think he would stop Jake Paul?
