Jalen Hurts Being The Favorite To Win The MVP Is Just Asinine

I woke up this morning to a bunch of tweets that Jalen Hurts is the leader in odds for MVP. Just because you're the QB of a 9-1 team doesn't mean you should win the MVP. Jalen Hurts last year 100% deserved it but he's playing worse now. Brock Purdy is 18/1 to win the MVP when he has better numbers all around and the same exact weapons. Brock Purdy also had his best receiver and best offensive lineman out for a couple of games. I talked shit about this guy, but CJ Stroud has much better numbers than Jalen Hurts this year and he's way more important to his team right now than Hurts. The Texans were the 2nd worst team in the NFL and he has them in a playoff position right now. That has to count for something.

I just think we put these players up for MVP because of team success over personal stats. I love Patrick Mahomes and right now he is 3rd in odds. He shouldn't be anywhere near the top this year. His stats aren't there and his offense is the worst offense in the NFL in the 2nd half of games. It isn't his fault he has the worst receivers to ever exist but everyone knows he doesn't deserve to be in the conversation right now. There should be 5 people in the race. Cj Stroud, Lamar Jackson, Tua, Purdy, and Christian Mccaffrey. Stop the nonsense of putting the QB of the best team when his stats don't live up to it.
