Ja'Marr Chase makes history with incredible performance on TNF

Despite the Bengals losing to the Ravens 35-34 on Thursday night football, Ja'Marr Chase had one of the best games of his career, recording 263 receiving yards, on 11 catches and three touchdowns, two of which vae on 60-plus yard plays.

Chase was just two yards short of his career high which he set against Kansas City in 2022 and he now has two of the top 18 highest yardage games in NFL history. After Thursday night, Chase is now the only player in NFL history with two games with 260 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

He also set a record for most receiving yards against one team in a season as he had 10 catches for 193 yards against the Ravens in week five, giving him 457 yards against Baltimore in two games this year.

After entering the night second in receiving yards on the season, Chase moves into the top spot now with 981 yards in 10 games and he's on pace to break his personal record of 1,455 yards which he set in 2021. He also leads the league with 10 receiving touchdowns now.

Additionally, the star pass catcher now owns more 60-yard touchdowns than any NFL player under the age of 25 in league history, logging his 11th and 12th scores of that nature against Baltimore.

Chase continues to seek contract extension

After Chase and the Bengals were unable to agree on a long-term contract extension before the season, resulting in a holdout through training camp.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Chase and the Bengals "came close to reaching a deal" before Week 1 of the regular season, but the team's offer didn't meet his desire to reset the wide receiver market. Per Fowler, people "around the league" expected Cincinnati to pay Chase "somewhere between" the contracts handed to CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys and Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.

Jefferson and Lamb own the two highest contracts among all receivers in terms of average value, playing on deals worth $35 million and $34 million per year respectively (via Spotrac ).

Chase's agent Caitlin Aoki posted on X "he keeps making my job easier" after the monster night from her client. LSU legends Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr chase are putting together a memorable season, even though the numbers have not resulted in wins.
