YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – In the gentle embrace of daybreak, as golden rays softly kissed the earth, we lovingly remember an angel among us, Jamesha Marie Gilmer. A radiant soul who graced this world January 11, 2015, with her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. From her miraculous journey as a premature "Miracle Baby" in the NICU to the cherished memories of her days as a third-grade scholar at Ducksberry Elementary in Columbus, every moment with Jamesha was a treasure.

With a heart as vast as the sky above, Jamesha, a true "Daddy's girl," touched the lives of all who knew her with her talkative nature and exceptional memory. She was affectionately nicknamed Mesha Butt and shared an unbreakable bond with her best friend, Marianna, and together they wove a tapestry of childhood dreams and shared secrets.

Born of resilience and nurtured by the love of her family, Jamesha found joy in the music of life and the dance of existence. A scholar in her own right, despite her tender age, she navigated the world with grace and curiosity, leaving a trail of memories that will forever linger in our hearts. She had a tremendous appreciation butterflies, the colors pink and purple and enjoyed the wonderful adventures of Disney's Moana.

In the midst of life's unfathomable sojourn, on Monday, October 28, 2024, Jamesha embarked on her final journey, her spirit ascending to the heavens like a melody carried by the wind, as she transcended this earthly realm, yet her family selflessly extended the quality of life for several others as Jamesha was an organ and tissue donor.

Jamesha's memory will be sustained by her father, James Gilmer, Sr. and bonus mother, Monique Darnell, with whom she made her home and mother, Tausha Milender. The legacy will endure through her siblings, James, Jr., Marianna, Semya, Nialina, Hannah, Tristian, Jiovonni, Jamarion and Samaya. Precious memories will be retained by her grandmothers, Kim McKelly and Tara Harvey; grandfather, Alfred Milender and her aunt, Regina Tynes, who helped to nurture her.

As Jamesha entered eternity, she was embraced by her sister, Savannah; brother, Jerome and grandfather, Alfred Milender who preceded her in death.

In the echoes of her laughter and the whispers of her spirit, Jamesha Marie Gilmer shall forever dwell in the garden of our memories, a beacon of light in the shadows of our sorrow.

As we gather to honor her memory, we invite you to join us in celebrating the life of this precious soul. On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Avenue, there will be public viewing and calling hours at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. where Rev. Lewis Macklin will serve as the celebrant.

May her soul find peace in the eternal embrace of the heavens, as we carry her legacy in our hearts until the end of time.
