Jayson Tatum Stuns Suns Star’s Family With a Massive Surprise as Joe Mazzulla’s Olympic Secret Emerges

A.Lee2 hr ago
It's not been long since Jayson Tatum came back from the Jordan Brand Tour in China. JT along with Luka Doncic , Zion Williamson , and Paolo Banchero went around the country surprising fans and also releasing some new colorways of their signature kicks. However, Tatum gave his fans a glimpse of his new signature shoes, Jordan Tatum 3. Is this a hint at its release date? For the most part, Tatum 3 won't be up for sale anytime soon, or at least till we're well into the upcoming regular season. Regardless, one of Tatum's fans received his first Jordan Tatum kicks.

Phoenix Suns point guard Tyus Jones, who like Tatum is also a Duke alumnus, recently shared a video of his son, Tyus Jr., on his Instagram. Junior received a massive surprise when Tatum gifted him a pair of his signature kicks. His 4-year-old son thanked Tatum, saying, "Thanks Jayson for my shoes, I love them". JT added the adorable kid's words to his Instagram story later on. Now, from what it seems, Jones Jr. isn't holding Tatum 3s. In fact, JT sent a pair of Tatum 2 'Vortex', which is the most famous colorway of his signature shoes.

Well, Jones himself has never worn Jordan Tatums on the court but surely likes the look of the shoes on his son. Moreover, this isn't the first time Tatum gifted a pair of his signature shoes. Last year, a week before the playoffs, Tatum gifted his signature kicks to the Celtics' coaching staff. Joe Mazzulla and others have always helped Tatum during training camp and even when he's away from the team. How so? Mazzulla recently flew to Paris to support Tatum during the Olympics!

The team had just won the NBA Finals. However, Team USA and HC Steve Kerr faced controversy over Tatum's benching. Mazulla flew to Paris to stand by his player. "Even when Tatum was struggling during the Olympics, Mazzulla flew out to France to kind of make sure everything was OK," Bill Simmons broke the news in a recent episode of 'The Bill Simmons Podcast'. Mazzulla is just 36 and has a deep understanding of his roster. For him to fly across the world to support his star player says a lot about how committed he is to his players as well as his team.

Fans as well as critics weren't so happy with Steve Kerr's decision to bench Tatum in their matchups against Serbia. During the Preliminary round and in the Semi-Finals, JT's name was followed by a DNP on the stat sheet. Of course, the next time the Celtics play the Warriors, JT won't be taking any matchup lightly. If anything that's what Steve Kerr expects.

Jayson Tatum already has an advantage over Steve Kerr and Co. The Celtics will host the Dubs early into the regular season, on November 6th. Kerr is already expecting the Boston crowd to be all over him once he visits TD Garden. Recently, Steve Kerr talked about facing the Celtics crowd next season, saying, "I think they're going to be all over me. That's fine.". And why not? JT didn't exactly get the championship-level respect in the Olympics. This has not only alarmed the Celtics fans but also critics around the league.

There is no doubt that Tatum will be planning to have a big game against the Dubs a little over a month from now. Also, being the favorite to win it all next year, Tatum and company won't be leaving any stones unturned. Regardless, as they head towards the next season, the Celtics have a lot on the line. But how is that? For starters, they have an extremely well-balanced roster. They have all the talent to win a championship. Not only that but the Celtics have a chance to establish themselves as a dynasty.

It will be interesting to see how whether the Celtics can repeat the title next summer with just less than two weeks remaining in the preseason. What are your thoughts on Jayson Tatum's revenge on Kerr and company? Do you think the Celtics can win their second consecutive title? Let us know in the comments.
