Jean N. Sotack, 79, of Coal Street, Glen Lyon section of Newport Township,
died Friday at Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke.
Born April 28, 1922 in Glen Lyon, she was a daughter of the late Teofil and
Cornelia (Bigorowski) Mitros. She attended the Newport Township schools. She
was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Wanamie, Newport Township, American Legion
Auxiliary Post 539 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 8353, both
of Glen Lyon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J.; brothers, John,
Julius, Stanley, Bernard and Alex.

Surviving are her son, Edward, Jr., Glen Lyon; daughters, Barbara
Gregorowicz, Hunlock Creek; Carol Danowski, Berwick; and Susan Caley, Glen
Lyon; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and sisters, Mary Dzbanko and
Lillian Lynch, both of Flushing, N.Y.



Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the George A. Strish Inc.
Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon, with a Mass of Christian Burial at

Glen Lyon. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Members of the
American Legion Auxiliary Post 539 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post
