Jean Elizabeth (Yoder) Weidner, 89, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital Bern Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Larry J. Weidner whom she shared 56 years of marriage having wed August 7, Jean 1954. Born November 6, 1934 in Fleetwood, Jean was the daughter of the late Charles and Edythe (Manwiller) Yoder. She was a proud 1952 graduate of Fleetwood Area School District and later attended Kutztown State Teacher College where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. Her passion for teaching led her to further her education, obtaining a Master of Education in Reading. Jean dedicated her career to the Fleetwood Area School District, where she began as a third-grade teacher before transitioning to a remedial reading specialist, a position she held until her retirement in 1993. A devoted member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood, Jean served in numerous capacities over the years, including Sunday School Superintendent, Consistory member, Choir member, and active member of the Worship Committee. Her dedication to her church and community was unwavering, and her impact will long be remembered. Known lovingly as "Grandma Jean" not only to her own family, but also to many family friends, Jean's warmth and generosity touched countless lives. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, crafting, baking, playing cards, and supporting her grandchildren in all their endeavors. Jean is survived by her two sons, Alan J. Weidner, partner of Suzanne Noble, of Blandon, and Troy D. Weidner, husband of Vivian (Bleiler) Weidner, of Kutztown. She is also survived by four cherished grandchildren: Kenneth A. Weidner, Austin D. Weidner, husband of Elizabeth Olliver, Audra D. Berg, wife of Chris Berg, and Anson D. Weidner, partner of Shelby Brennan, as well as one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522, with a visitation preceding the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Internment will follow at St, Paul's Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ at the above address. Mae A.
