Jennifer Garner enjoys autumn with her mother and sister in her West Virginia hometown

Jennifer Garner has been enjoying the beauty of autumn with her mother and sister in her hometown of Charleston, West Virginia .

The 52-year-old actress was born in Houston, Texas , but grew up in Charleston in a devoutly Christian family including two sisters.

Now she has returned to the state where she was raised, and has been delightedly drinking in the changing fall colors and the picturesque landscapes.

She posted a charming Instagram album of her trip, including a picture of herself with her younger sister Melissa Wylie and their mother Patricia Garner .

Melissa and Jennifer walked on either side of Patricia, gently holding her hands as they all crossed a tree-lined suburban street together.

Jennifer also posted a breathtaking image of dusk in Charleston, with sunset glow reflecting off the dome of the West Virginia State Capitol .

'West Virginia— you know how to autumn,' she wrote alongside the album, which included a video of her view from the highway as she passed a wooded area.

Jennifer's family now includes her three children Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, whom she shares with her amicable ex-husband Ben Affleck.

She has largely managed to hold herself away from the publicity whirlwind around Ben amid the implosion of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez.

JLo filed for divorce in August on her and Ben's second wedding anniversary, after months of rumors that their relationship was on the brink of collapse.

Meanwhile Jennifer Garner has been quietly dating businessman John Miller on and off since 2018, reportedly splitting from him in 2020 only to reunite in 2021.

Last month Jennifer set off a swirl of engagement rumors when she was spotted with a gold band around her left hand ring finger.

However, Jennifer's left hand was bare of jewelry this past Sunday when she was seen taking her two younger children to church.

A source has claimed Jennifer and John are planning a wedding next spring in Paris, where she allegedly recently went shopping for a bridal gown.

'Jen and John have taken a lot more trips to Europe than people realize. Paris is one of their favorite escapes and they've decided getting married there this coming spring is something they want to do,' the insider dished .

The source also noted that a large ceremony in the French capital would be a marked contrast to when Jennifer and Ben eloped to Turks And Caicos in 2005.
