Jennifer Lopez encourages fans to vote in the 2024 election - amid Ben Affleck divorce

Jennifer Lopez looked radiant on Wednesday as she used her star power to encourage fans to vote in the 2024 United States general election .

In partnership with the nonpartisan organization I Am A Voter, the On The Floor hitmaker, 55, appeared in a brief video, where she spoke about being a registered voter herself.

Lopez — who is 'moving forward' amid her divorce from Ben Affleck — also provided a resource that allows people to check on their voter status in the U.S.

'The general election is coming up on November 5 and most can vote earlier than that,' Lopez began.

'This year we're voting for President, every seat in the House, a third of the Senate and key state and local leaders who directly shape our lives. So let's do this together.'

She then urged fans to 'text VOTER to 26797 to check your registration and make your plan to vote.'

Lopez concluded with: 'I'm a voter. Are you?'

For the video, the Selena star wowed in a plunging off-white blazer dress with a cinching waist belt.

She rocked her full glam makeup and voluminous honey-toned curls.

The clip marked a rare social media post for Lopez, who shocked fans by filing for divorce from husband Ben Affleck, 52, in August after months of split rumors.

A source told PEOPLE last week that Lopez is not bitter over her failed marriage and is, instead, focusing on her future.

'Although this has been one of the hardest years for Jennifer, she is prepared to move forward as a single woman and prioritize her career,' the insider shared.

'She didn't want to file for divorce. She just felt like she had no choice. Nothing was gonna change with Ben.'

According to court documents, the popstar and the Hollywood hunk listed their date of separation as April 26, which came as no surprise to fans as the couple noticeably spent summer 2024 on opposite coasts.

The insider continued: 'She was very upset about [their split].

'But true to her positive outlook on life, she's moving forward with optimism. Instead of feeling like she's fallen flat on her face, she sees it was meant to be. She's taking time for herself right now.'

And she has no bad feelings toward her Dear Ben and Dear Ben, Pt. II muse.

Instead, she is choosing to focus on their good memories.

'She knows she lives a privileged life in so many ways. She's very grateful for all the beautiful memories with Ben, but she's now focused on creating the best future for herself and her kids,' the source finished.

The pair — lovingly dubbed Bennifer — first started dating in 2002 after playing lovers on set of Gigli (2003) and quickly got engaged.

But they split up in 2004, just before they were set to become husband and wife.

They both went on to wed other people - she exchanged vows with Marc Anthony in 2004, while he walked down the aisle with Jennifer Garner in 2005 – but after splitting from their respective partners, they eventually found their way back to each other.

They rekindled their romance in 2021 and finally said 'I do' in Las Vegas in July 2022.

Their assets are currently up in the air as Ben and Jen did not sign a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.

Breaking her silence on the split to Interview magazine, she described it as a 'lonely, unfamiliar, scary' time.

She added: 'It feels sad. It feels desperate.'

The songstress emphasized her willpower to move forward, accepting she has 'learned that lesson.'

On Wednesday, a source shared Affleck's perspective on the divorce and how he's been coping without Lopez by his side.

'Ben's very focused on work and his kids. He's staying busy and happy,' the insider told PEOPLE .

He is allegedly working on a new collaboration with Good Will Hunting co-star and longtime BFF, Matt Damon.

Their upcoming projects are keeping Ben busy.

'He's very close with Matt. Matt is Ben's confidant. Matt always knows exactly what's going on with Ben. They also enjoy working together,' the insider dished.
