Jet smashes through window of Teterboro Airport terminal during maneuvering

A business jet hit a terminal building at New Jersey's Teterboro Airport Thursday night after rolling off the ramp while maneuvering, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The incident, first reported by NJ.com , occurred just before 10 p.m.

A Dassault Falcon business jet with five people on board had just landed from Florida and was maneuvering when it fell off the ramp.

The fall led the small plane to crash through a window of Signature Airlines' main terminal at Teterboro, an aviation reliever airport in Bergen County, located about 12 miles west of Midtown Manhattan.

Reliever airports don't offer scheduled airline service , according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Their goal is to relieve congestion at commercial service airports and remove non-scheduled, general aviation aircraft from the regional air traffic.

The incident didn't result in any cancelations or delayed flights, officials said.

A Falcon spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment on Friday.
