Sports Jets' Offensive Success Long Time Coming for Younger Stars

It has been a long road for the New York Jets, and some of their biggest offensive stars.

Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are two of the top players on the Jets roster currently. They also have been dealt a rough hand since being drafted by the team together in 2022.

Four different quarterbacks each year struggles with the offensive line, and questionable coaching have all laid the groundwork for the Jets' young stars to be frustrated over their first two seasons.

Things have certainly changed in that regard.

Behind Aaron Rodgers' resurgence on the team, New York's offense has looked the part of a dominant group overall with Wilson and Hall at the center. It came to ahead Thursday night in the team's 24-3 shellacking of the New England Patriots in the home opener.

"It's something we haven't done much, and we've put our defense in tough spots through the years I've been here, so that's what we emphasized, you know, all week is let's start fast and see what happens, right? And seven sacks, right?" Wilson said in regard to playing with a two-score lead. "They're dropping back and having to pass the ball, that's the type of stuff that can happen, and like I said, we put our defense in tough spots and somehow they kept us in it, so we owe them, we owe them, and we've got to not just do it this week and be satisfied, we got to do that every week."

Hall is another player like Wilson who has been given some pretty difficult circumstances. The fact that he can help the team truly win and be a contender in the NFL though means all the difference in the world.

"It's cool to know that we can get ourselves out of those situations, but it's going to be even better to get in and watch film and just keep getting better so we're never in those positions to begin with," Hall explained.

Few players are more deserving of their current success than Hall and Wilson. They are two players who have seemingly been failed by teammates over the last two seasons.

To start 2024, they won't have to worry about that again.
